Biography
When I was eight, my mom signed me up for theater camp with our local group, the YouthCONNection, to get me out of the house for the summer - a decision that, ten years later, led me to a BFA in Musical Theatre and a career as a professional actor. I was luck enough to work Off-Broadway, on tour, and at regional theaters all over the country, as well as at home in NYC. While I enjoyed doing Hello, Dolly and Henry V, my favorite productions were always for children: I played a fairy godmother in North Carolina, a pirate princess in midtown manhattan, and a lost baby elephant at the Bronx Zoo. I also spent many, many hours (like most actors) at “day jobs” babysitting and teaching.

Inspired by those experiences and my first taste of devised theater (courtesy of my dear friend Talya Chalef), I moved to London to get my MA at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where I focused on dramaturgy of devised works for young and family audiences (with a “minor” in sound). The program was a crash course in collaborative interdisciplinary theatre making with peers from around the world, and introduced me to many of my current collaborators.
Since finishing my MA and moving back to the states, I’ve made a bunch of theater, published a few papers, and played a lot of board games. These days, I can be found in uptown NYC, where I live, make art, copyedit nonfiction, and eat lots of vegetarian food.
